Yodlee Aggregation SDK
The Yodlee Aggregation SDK gives you a permission-based way to access account, balance and transaction information at over 12K financial institutions on behalf of consumers and small businesses. Whether for a loyalty card, a personal finance application or obtaining a small business's cash flow for a loan, the Yodlee Aggregation SDK will integrate seamlessly into your product or service. Because it is a part of the Yodlee network, the data and categorization of transactions is constantly being improved by feedback from over 27 million registered users.

How It Works
In order for you to access account information a user will have to add that account on your site. To add an account, your system will go through the following step:

  • A user indicates which institution the account is with and your system checks the Yodlee API to see what data is needed to add that account. Typically this will be user name and password, but some sites will require additional data such as a PIN or multi-factor authentication.
  • Your site displays the correct form to the user and gathers the credentials from them then passes that information to Yodlee. Your system should not store any credentials, Yodlee is focused on the security of this sensitive data, see the security page (LINK: /security.html) for more information. From that point forward your system will access the account data using a unique Yodlee ID.
  • The Yodlee system accesses the account through the Yodlee Aggregation Network, which uses direct feeds with large financial institutions and for others uses scraping methods that have been perfected over the past decade and include a large team in our India office that is solely focused on maintaining the quality of the data.
  • Once the account has been added, the Yodlee system will usually pull 90 days worth of transactions and from that point forward will automatically go to the source account on a regular basis to get the latest transactions.
  • Your product or service can either access the account data when a user is logged into the system or can get the data through an XML feed or flat file from Yodlee and store re-factored, augmented data on your system.
